Our (love of) Watamu

Our family have resided in Kenya for over 70 years. The sanctuary of Watamu has forever been a place for us to reconnect with each other outside of our busy lives.

As we have evolved as a family, we feel it right to share our little slice of paradise with others. It is one place on earth where we feel that life takes a slower pace and most of our most treasured memories are from this magical beach.

Sooz’s love of the outdoors

Sooz was born and raised in Kenya and has seen Watamu evolve over time. Having experienced Watamu through her love of the outdoors (scuba diving, yoga, water skiing, boating, socializing,partying) Sooz is able to guide guests towards any interests that take their liking.

Our family’s deep knowledge of all Watamu has to offer

Sooz, Tasha and Jamie have lived, worked, and played in Watamu for their whole lives. Their varying passions and interests mean they have experienced Watamu in a variety of different ways, from Sooz’ intricate knowledge of the scuba diving scene and sundowner spots to Tasha’s detailed foodie knowledge and restaurant selection to Jamie’s love for everything outdoors and adventure. No matter what you’re looking for from your trip to Watamu, we have a wealth of real local knowledge and will be on call to make sure your experience is everything you dreamed of.

Watamu - a place families love

As the generations of Allwork- Parkinsons have grown up through their holidays to Watamu, Suzie has experienced the generational shifts with her own family.

Watamu has such a sense of community and is a place where many families have evolved together. Watamu has been a true cornerstone for Suzie and her family. The rarity of watching a group of families evolve through three generations and more is quite remarkable. No matter where in the world we end up, we always gravitate back to our haven of Watamu.

Watamu has been an unwavering constant which has brought us strength, love, and connection.

Vero

(Housekeeping)
Vero has an infectious beaming smile and incredibly hard work ethic. Vero always goes above and beyond to make people feel at home.
Ruth

(Housekeeping)
Ruth is a keen, young, and conscientious member of Nautilus. She works closely alongside Vero.
Eddie (Smiler)

Eddie has been part of the Allwork-Parkinson's family for over 15 years. He is busy in the garden and keeping the pool pristine. Eddie never fails to brighten up anyone's day with his wonderful energy.
Akiba

Energetic and enthusiastic, Akiba is conscientiously learning the ropes alongside Eddie.
Maiko

The warm and wonderful Maiko is ready to help in any way he can. Maiko is a jack of all trades and is incredibly valued and important within the family.
Kesenko

(Security)
With his wonderful sense of humor, diligence and attention to detail. Kesenko has lead the security for 17 years. Kesenko prides himself in taking good care of everyone who is at the house.

Jeremiah

Conscientious, kind and smiley Jeremiah works closely with Kesenko and prides himself with keeping a watchful eye around Nautilus.
